Does Acupuncture Relieve Pain?

Most of the patients here at Parkview Health and Wellness Center travel to Long Beach for pain relief. Our acupuncture treatments help relieve pain and effectively keep our patients pain-free. Multiple acupuncture appointments are our most popular form of preventative care.

Dr. Allen Arnette uses acupuncture needles to organize and train the nervous system into functioning properly. This happens when regulating the nerve “flow” of energy in and out of the brain and body. Our energy is involved in every aspect of health.

Acupuncture Process

After the thin metal pins are inserted just below the surface of the skin in various “acupoints” signals are sent up the spine to the brain. The brain then triggers several pain decreasing reactions which relax the muscles, increase blood flow, and increase range of motion in the targeted area. While everyone has a different acupuncture experience, the patients at Parkview have noticed a few things about Dr. Arnette’s style of acupuncture.

“I find deep relaxation of the mind and body almost instantly after the needles have been placed. The benefits of my acupuncture treatment are greater the longer I see Dr. Arnette” -Shelly Wilson

Acupuncture as Physical Therapy

Acupuncture theory is based on the physical understanding of a patient’s body. By working a patient with needles Dr. Arnette finds a better understanding of their blood vessels, circulation, major organ function, and the transportation of nutrients to that nervous system. The key to good health is highly oxygenated and highly nutritious blood circulating at the proper rate.

Using this natural medical technique restores health and wellness by putting your nervous system through its own physical therapy routine. This routine establishes proper oxygen delivery to the body tissues. Acupuncture as a physical therapy also promotes healthy habits for the vascular system, the organ system, and the nervous system.

When you suffer from a physical injury your body first focuses on protecting the injured area. Nerves send pain signals and the brain makes it harder to move muscles to prevent re-injury. After reducing inflammation your brain releases chemicals to ease pain, relax your guard reflex, and dilates the blood vessels to bring back blood flow. Acupuncture needles stimulate the endorphin releasing process improving range of motion and restoring proper blood flow.

Dr. Arnette enjoys healing patients with acupuncture more than anything. He has always pursued a course of study that allows him to work in the curative arts. “My goal has always been to treat patients naturally and holistically.” He has perfected this art by practicing acupuncture around the world since 1991.
